RedMagic has confirmed that its first ever tablet for the global market will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version SoC. The device has been released in China as the Gaming Tablet Pro, in the course of an event that confirmed the integration of an active spinning fan as part of its ICE 2.0 cooling system.
The unique component is also backed up by graphite film and thermal paste on the inside to go with the "3D" copper heat pipe also visible on the outside of theGaming Tablet Pro, as discovered by Chinese teardown enthusiast WekiHome.
However, the system was found to be no more effective than the similar tiny fan of the RedMagic 9S Pro (the tablet's smartphone equivalent that is now available on Amazon) in the vlogger's testing.
Nevertheless,WekiHome did demonstrate that the tablet's extra features do not prevent its disassembly, thereby making some home repairs such as the replacement of the Tablet's compact 144Hz display potentially feasible.
On the other hand, its 10,000mAhbattery is firmly glued in place without pull-tabs or a handy adhesive pouch, which might make its replacement more of a challenge. The global edition of the device is slated to launch as the Nova Gaming Tablet in just under 2 weeks from today (September 15, 2024).
