Xiaomi has been selling the Redmi Watch 4 (curr. $109.78 on Amazon) for a while now. For reference, the company initially released the smartwatch in late 2023, although it took until the beginning of this year for the smartwatch to be available outside China. However, it seems that Xiaomi is preparing to introduce its inaugural fifth-generation Redmi Watch, albeit not necessarily as a direct successor to the Redmi Watch 4.
Instead, Xiaomi has revealed initial details about the Redmi Watch 5 Active, which will land in India on August 27. Unfortunately, the company has not confirmed how much the smartwatch will cost yet or when it will be available globally. Nonetheless, it has outlined some features through a series of promotional images.
Embedded below, the images show that the Redmi Watch 5 Active will ship with HyperOS and over 140 sports modes. Additionally, the smartwatch is said to last up to 18 days on a single charge; its actual battery capacity remains unknown for now. Moreover, the Redmi Watch 5 Active features a 2-inch display, a sole hardware button and a proprietary watch band system. On top of that, the smartwatch will support Amazon Alexa voice commands and Bluetooth calling; please see Xiaomi's website for further information.
