Now the price has been doubled to $40 without any announcement. The reason for the price increase is obvious: the upcoming release of the Horizon: Zero Dawn Remaster.

Anyone who already owns the game can upgrade to the remastered version for $10 starting on October 31, 2024. By raising the price, Sony likely aims to discourage players from purchasing the cheaper version now and upgrading for just $10 later. With the current game priced at $40 and the upgrade costing $10, the total matches the $50 price of the remastered version, leaving no price advantage for early buyers.
