Almost a year has passed since Meteorish announced the TJD T101, one of the stranger Ryzen 7 7840U-based gaming handhelds. Shortly afterwards, the company announced the smaller TJD T80, which is now available to back on Indiegogo. As its name suggests, the TJD T80 features an 8-inch display rather than the 10.1-inch equivalent inside the TJD T101.
According to Meteorish, the IPS display outputs at 2,048 x 1,536 pixels with a 224 PPI, 130% sRGB colour space coverage and 500 nits peak brightness. Moreover, the TJD T80 utilises a 10,000 mAh battery, an active cooling solution and a pair of speakers that output at 2 W apiece. On top of that, Meteorish states that the gaming handheld supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, too.
With that being said, it is unclear what chipsets power the TJD T80. On the one hand, Meteorish alleges that it has included a 'next-gen flagship AIoT chip'. Furthermore, it lists CPU and GPU configurations on its Indiegogo campaign page. On the other hand, it has not actually revealed what these chipsets are. Currently, Meteorish is selling the TJD T80 for $199 with 4 GB RAM, 128 GB of storage and its lesser processor variant. By contrast, the device costs $399 with double the memory and a more powerful chipset.
