Tesla offers free Supercharging in new Drive Anywhere bundle to spearhead FSD adoption

Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) option used to cost $15,000 when the company was still flying high on record EV prices back in 2022.

The FSD option was then slashed to $12,000 but still didn't find enough buyers, so this spring Tesla dropped the price again to $8,000, while also offering a monthly subscription rate of $99, down from $199.

The subscription model has more fans, so Tesla is now bundling the outright FSD purchase with free Supercharging and Premium Connectivity for future Model S or Model X owners.

Those of them who get the $8,000 FSD option can now take advantage of Tesla's new Drive Anywhere Package for $2,000 more. The bundle includes three years of free Supercharging and cellular connectivity, and typically costs $5,000.

In recent months, Tesla has taken many steps to spearhead FSD adoption, as it will need all the miles driven to present to regulators who will be tasked with approving its Robotaxi for public roads.

It mandated an FSD demo with each electric car purchase to get more people acquainted with the system, and started including it in bundle deals like the Drive Anywhere Package. When it comes to the newest FSD v12.5 update, Tesla is also prioritizing the larger number of existing cars with an older Hardware 3.0 suite.

The 12.5 version should also bring the self-driving option to the Cybertruck, too, but it remains to be seen if the new Drive Anywhere Package will be available for Tesla's most expensive passenger vehicle as well.
