When Tesla introduced its CCS-to-NACS charging adapter back in 2022, it priced it at the hefty $250.
Older Model Y and Model 3 vehicles made before 2020 had to also buy aCCS Combo 1 retrofit component together with the adapter for $350, while the Model X/S retrofits went for the princely $450.
Now that the Supercharger network rules the land, and other EV makers are moving to Tesla's NACS standard, it has slashed the prices of both the adapter and the Model Y retrofit combo by up to 50%.
Tesla's CCS adapter now costs $125, which is much more in line with Lectron's CCS-to-NACS adapter that now goes for $111 on Amazon. Even better, the CCS adapter retrofit kit for the Model Y and Model 3 is 35% off, down from $350, while the Model X/S retrofit price has been slashed by $150.
The 4,000 referral credits necessary to snag one, however, are staying the same as before the price cut. Those who would like to check whether they have to buy the retrofit can go into the Additional Vehicle Information menu option and check to see whether the "CCS charging and third-party NACS DC charging" hardware features are marked as enabled.
