A new titanium version of the Suunto Race S smartwatch is launching in China this August. The latest wearable from the brand has been teased on its Weibo account, with the company describing it as "different", "strong" and "lightweight".
The Suunto Race S launched in June as a smaller and lighter version of the Suunto Racewhich is already available with stainless steel or titanium finishes. The Race S has a 45 mm watch face and weighs 60 g (~2.1oz), while the Race has a larger 49 mm face and weighs 83 g (~2.9 oz).An earlier press release from the brand suggests that the Suunto Race S Titanium will weigh 53 g (~1.9 oz), making it 7 g (~0.25 oz) lighter than the original model. Many of the new versions' features are expected to match the standard wearable. However, it has been speculated that the Titanium edition of the smaller watch could also have upgrades like a sapphire glass display and improved water resistance.
The Suunto Race S Titanium is expected to launch on August 26th, though it is unclear how much it will cost. To give you an idea, the Suunto Race costs $449, while the Suunto Race Titanium costs $549. Given that the Suunto Race S is priced at $349, the Suunto Race S Titanium could retail for around $429-$449.
