The newest addition to the Samsung Galaxy Watch series, the Watch FE, is now available for purchase. As announced a couple of days back, the wearable costs $199, and the company has a trade-in option, which currently accepts any smartwatch at any condition for an estimated credit of $100. That would bring the price down to $99.
As we reported during the launch, the Galaxy Watch FE is essentially a reworked Galaxy Watch 4 (40 mm Bluetooth version curr. $169.99 on Amazon). The smartwatch is equipped with an Exynos W920 SoC that features dual cores and is paired with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.
Besides that, the smartwatch comes with a 247 mAh battery that supports WPC-based wireless charging. Sensor-wise, the Watch FE sports a BioActive sensor, which offers optical heart rate readings, can measure blood pressure, and can do Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis.
Now, while the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 was available in 40 mm and 44 mm sizes, the Watch FE launched in only 40 mm size. So, you're getting a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED screen on the front that's protected with Sapphire Crystal glass.
Also, even though an LTE option is available for the Watch 4, only the Bluetooth variant of the new smartwatch is available at launch. Samsung said that it would bring an LTE variant for Watch FE later this year, which would cost $249.
