In July 2024, Samsung announced the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro as the latest iteration of its premium earbuds. Shortly after the announcement, it began shipping them to early adopters. However, due to complaints about the quality of the earbuds, Samsung was forced to stop shipping. The issues seem to have been resolved as there are reports the earbuds have resumed shipping.
According to 9to5Google, some Reddit users have reported that they have received their earbuds while others who have ordered but haven't received yet said the estimated delivery window for their order has changed. However, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are still unavailable on partner stores such as Amazon and Best Buy.
In addition, while you can order them from the official Samsung store, the delivery date as at the time of writing is September 20. That's well over a month away! On the other hand, the cheaper Galaxy Buds 3(available on Amazon for $179.99) are not only available to buy on Amazon and Best Buy but they have an expected delivery date of August 14 on the Samsung store.
A key quality issue associated with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro is the easily torn silicone tips. While users could simply use any of the spares included in the box, it is important to note that the tips are of varying sizes. Also, nobody wants to spend $250 on a pair of earbuds with silicone tips that are easily damaged.
Samsung will have to get its act together with its earbuds as there's a lot of competition in the space. One of them is the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 which will be announced alongside the Pixel 9 series on August 13.
