Rumours about the Redmi K70 Ultra or Redmi K70 Extreme Edition have been circling for a while now, albeit with no official confirmation that such a device exists. To recap, various device specifications have already been mooted, as has the possibility of a summer 2024 release. Based on other leaks, it seems that the Redmi K70 Ultra will line up outside China as a Xiaomi 13T Pro (curr. $598 on Amazon) successor, which would track with previous Xiaomi T series smartphones.
In that vein, a Xiaomi executive has shared the first Redmi K70 Ultra-related teaser on Chinese social media. Specifically, Xiaomi China's Marketing Department Deputy General Manager and Redmi General Manager has confirmed that the Redmi K70 Ultra is almost upon us, albeit without specifying when to expect its arrival. Please note that Redmi K70 Ultra can also be translated to 'Redmi K70 Extreme Edition'.
As the images below show, the Redmi K70 Ultra will launch with IP68 dust and water protection, a certification that remains the go-to for high-end smartphones. Incidentally, Xiaomi only brought IP68 certification to its Redmi series last year with the introduction of the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G. Somewhat predictably, the same executive describes the Redmi K70 Ultra as a 'performance king', adding that it is 'cost-effective king' too while maintaining a 'versatile flagship experience'. Presumably, Xiaomi will begin teasing the Redmi K70 Ultra in earnest within the next few weeks.
