AYANEO has now released the Pocket Micro, which the company claims 'pays tribute to classic pocket consoles' while maintaining its 'minimalist aesthetics'. Unlike some AYANEO devices that spend months or years in gestation, the Pocket Micro has arrived just over two months after its initial announcement. However, initial orders will not begin shipping until September 2024 at the earliest.
As expected, the Pocket Micro features a 3.5-inch IPS display that outputs at 960 x 640 pixels and sits within a CNC aluminium alloy frame that measures 156 x 63 x 18 mm and weighs 233 g. Additionally, AYANEO equips the gaming handheld with a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, as well as LPDDR4x-4266 RAM and UFS 2.2 flash storage. Moreover, the company has also included a 2,600 mAh battery, along with a usual assortment of gamepad buttons.
As is often the case, AYANEO has decided to release the Pocket Micro on Indiegogo before offering the device through its eCommerce platform. Currently, the Pocket Micro is available with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage or 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for approximately $189 and $219, respectively. Please see the image below for full pricing details. Incidentally, AYANEO has released the more powerful Pocket DMG today too, full coverage of which we have provided separately.
