ThePhantom V Fold debuted in the same year as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, with the larger (and higher resolution) main AMOLED display of the 2, yet is one of the cheapest foldable smartphones on the Indian market, at INR 69,999 (~$834) on Amazon.in today (August 16, 2024).
The first-gen V Fold also has a distinctive camera hump (even for a foldable smartphone) with a 50MP f/1.9 main shooter: something unchanged in its upcoming successor, according to Camera FV-5.
In addition, a Geekbench result now linked to the V Fold2 (via the alleged model number AE10) lists an SoC of the same specs as the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC of its predecessor. It also still has 12GB of RAM, although it runs Android 14 while the original V Fold remains on Android 13.
Therefore, if the Phantom V Fold2 5G has any other significant upgrades, they are not immediately apparent from its initial leaks.
