The Vivo X Fold3 Pro is currently touted as one of the world's thinnest foldable smartphones despite its class-leading 5,700mAh silicon-carbon battery - however, it is now tipped to be outdone by an upcoming ~6,000mAh device that slims down to 8.9 millimeters (mm) in total height at most.
The next-genflagship-grade book-styleAndroid smartphone is described by reliable leaker Digital Chat Station as having a central round camera hump for triple 50MP rear cameras with a single periscope lens, suspiciously similar to that of the X Fold3 Pro - or its close rival the OnePlus Open.
However, the "new" device is powered by the "SM8750" or Snapdragon 8 Gen 4SoC as opposed to the 8 Gen 3or 8 Gen 2 respectively for the pre-existing flagships. It is also backed to have a total mass of between 190 to 199 grams (g), as opposed to 236g in the Open or 239g in the X Fold3 Pro.
Accordingly, this upcoming foldable could weigh even less than the 227g iPhone 16 Pro Max while leaving an almost comparable footprint, although it may owe its new build to glass alternatives that may or may not include next-gen vegan leather rather than titanium.
It is also now said to have IPX8-level waterproofing, which would be an improvement on OnePlus' current foldable flagship, if not so much on its Vivo counterpart.
