Lenovo confirms more specs of its new Legion gaming tablet

Lenovo is set to launch the 2024 Legion Y700 on September 29 in China. So far, the company has shared a good number of details about its new gaming tablet. Among them is the screen size, which is confirmed to be 8.8 inches. In a recent videoshared on Lenovo's Weibo account, the company claimed that this size makes the pad suitable for both small and large hands.

The 2024 Lenovo Legion Y700 is also confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but it's still unclear whether it will be the Leading Version that the RedMagic Novafeatures. While the standard variant of the SoC could make it slightly less capable than RedMagic's offering, the gaming tablet will have a large vapor chamber (VC) cooling.

More specifically, the new Legion gaming tablet will sport a 10,004 mm2 VC, which Lenovo says is larger than the average phone's screen. This would lower the chances of thermal throttling and make the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 perform well under heavy loads.

Now, with the latest teaser, Lenovo has shared the screen specs of the gaming tablet. The 2024 Legion Y700 will come with an LCD panel with 2560x1600 pixels resolution. This screen sports a 165 Hz refresh rate, supports global DC dimming, and features a brightness rating of 500 nits.

In addition, Lenovo says that the display has a wide DCI-P3 color gamut and multiple TÜV Rheinland display certifications. Digital Chat Station, a reliable tipster, further adds that the gaming tablet will have support for 68W fast charging (100W Anker GaN charger curr. $49.99 on Amazon). All these would make the 2024 Legion Y700 a proper successor to the 2023 model.

Pricing details are still under wraps, but the 2023 Legion Y700 launched with a starting price of €599, which is around $670, and RedMagic's new gaming tablet launched at around $563in China.
