This year, Google launched five new Pixel smartphones, kicking off with the Pixel 8a(curr. $399 on Amazon) in the first half of the year and following it up with the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Now, new info has revealed Google plans to replicate that number in 2025 when it announces the Pixel 9a and Pixel 10 series.
According to a leak first published by Android Headlines, the codenames of the Pixel smartphones launching in 2025 have confirmed that Google will be launching five new phones. The first is the Pixel 9a which is codenamed 'Tegu', and going by the last three Pixel A-series smartphones, it should be announced in May during Google I/O.
In addition to the Pixel 9a, Google will also announce the Pixel 10 series in 2025. This will include the Pixel 10 codenamed 'Frankel', the Pixel 10 Pro with the codename 'Blazer', and the Pixel 10 Pro XL that goes by the codename 'Mustang'. Yes, Google is sticking to two sizes for the Pro model.
Last but not least is the Pixel 10 Pro Fold foldable smartphone which is codenamed 'Rango', and it should debut with the rest of the Pixel 10 series in the second half of the year.
While there's no info yet about the specs of the Pixel 10 series, it was reported a few months ago that the next-gen Tensor chipset, expected to be called the Tensor G5, will be manufactured by TSMC. Furthermore, considering next year's phones will mark the 10th anniversary of the Pixel line of smartphones, it is safe to presume the Pixel 10 series will bring significant upgrades and exciting new features.
