Sony officially announced the PS4 Pro back in early September of 2016, about three years after the PlayStation 4 hit the shelves. The PlayStation 5 launched in November 2020, and Sony has yet to announce the PS5 Pro. But it seems that the upgraded variant of the console isn't far from now.
As a journalist from an Italian website named Multiplayer says, a developer attending Gamescom 2024 claimed that they had to delay their game because of the launch of PS5 Pro, suggesting an imminent launch. Wccftech says they have heard something similar in Gamescom, but the developer they were in contact with added further details.
That developer claimed that they had received the specs of the PlayStation 5 Pro, and they were confident that Unreal Engine 5 on the upcoming gaming console would run better than the standard PS5 (Slim available on Amazon). The developers didn't share anything specific, but previous reports suggested that there would be a 45% performance improvement.
Moreover, none of the developers said anything about the exact launch date, but a report from an industry analyst in July shed some light on it. Per the analyst William R. Aguilar, Sony could announce the PlayStation 5 in September and schedule the launch in November, similar to what the company did for PS4 Pro. But again, Sony hasn't officially confirmed anything yet, so take all these pieces of info with a grain of salt.
