Eufy’s upcoming 2K Video Doorbells C30 and C31 could challenge Google and Ring’s 720p and 1080p models

As highlighted in previous leaks, Eufy Security is gearing up to release two new video doorbells: the Video Doorbell C30 and the Video Doorbell C31. Now, more info regarding both models have been leaked, confirming their design, features, and key specifications.

The Eufy Video Doorbell C30 (model T8224) was previously leaked, where it was rumored to feature 1080p resolution and Wi-Fi connectivity. This latest leak, however, confirms key upgrades, including a 2K resolution and a 5,000 mAh battery. It records video in 16:9 aspect ratio, and includes two-way communication for interaction with visitors. The C30 is compatible with the S380 HomeBase 3 (currently $125 on Amazon) and can connect to Amazon Alexaand Google Home for added smart home integration. Notifications are available via the Eufy Security app, so users can stay informed of activity at their doorstep.

The C31 (model T8223) takes a slightly different approach, with a 4:3 aspect ratio for a more vertical field of view. Both doorbell cameras have different use-cases - the C31 seems ideal for capturing the full length of visitors or packages on the ground, while the C30 seems to focus more on capturing a wider view. It also supports 2K resolution and two-way communication. Unlike the C30, the C31 can either be powered via existing doorbell wiring for continuous recording or rely on its 6,500 mAh rechargeable battery. Just like its 16:9 sibling, it is also compatible with the S380 HomeBase 3, supports home assistants, and sends notifications through the Eufy Security app.

Pricing for the Eufy Video Doorbell C31 is rumored to be around $110 to $120, while there is no pricing info available regarding the C30 yet.

These upcoming doorbells will face competition from brands like Ring (the Ring Battery Doorbell being priced at $99) and Google (the Nest Doorbell priced at $149.99), which offer similar features like two-way communication, and various power options. However, while the Ring and Google Nest doorbells offer 1080p and 720p video recording respectively, Eufy doorbells' 2K resolutions, battery capacities and aspect ratios are the key differentiators here. It will be interesting to see how they perform when they hit the market.
