Decathlon has launched the RR700e electric mountain bike in Germany. The new model joins the RR900e, which arrived earlier this year and is also exclusively available in this market. There are several similarities between the two models, such as a mid-mounted 250W 85Nm Bosch Performance Line CX motor.
Plus, the RR700e and the RR900e use a RockShox Recon Silver RL suspension fork with 100 mm travel. While both are 12-speed bikes, the RR700e has an SRAM SX EAGLE derailleur rather than the Shimano XT M8120. Another difference between the two models is the battery; the RR700e has a smaller 545Wh PowerPack for up to 100 km (~62 miles) range, a 10 km (~6 miles) decrease on the RR900e. Also included are a display showing speed and battery level, Shimano BR-MT420 hydraulic disc brakes and Schwalbe Nobby Nic 29 x 2.35 inch tires. On top of this, the e-bike has Bluetooth connectivity for GPS location tracking, remote locking, and other tools available via the eBike Flow app.
It is worth noting that the RR700e is heavier at 27.8 kg (~61.3 lbs) compared to the 24.5 kg (~54.0 lbs) weight of the same L-sizedRR900e. The Decathlon E-Mountainbike 29-inch RR700e Bosch Performance CX 545 Wh is available in Germany for €3,299. It is unclear whether or when this e-bike, or the earlier RR900e model, could reach other European countries.
