Coros is now has a new bike computer on offer, the Dura, which is a modern bike computer with a wide range of functions. The model has 32 GB of storage, with global maps already pre-installed for offline use. This means that the bike computer can be used as a navigation system completely independently of a smartphone. Turn-by-turn navigation is supported, allowing users to concentrate almost entirely on pedaling. The GNSS module supports GPS, Glonass, Galileo, Beidou and QZSS with dual-band support.
A barometric altimeter, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a compass and a temperature sensor are installed. The 99-gram system has a 2.7 inch touchscreen with a resolution of 400 x 240, which is an energy-saving touchscreen that can display 64 different colors. The battery life is said to be up to 120 hours, which means that cyclists can easily manage trips lasting several days. In theory, the battery life is virtually unlimited: one hour in direct sunlight should provide an additional runtime of up to 2 hours thanks to the included solar cell, but charging is deactivated at temperatures above 45 °C.
IP67 certification is advertised, as is compatibility with various additional devices. For example, a heart rate monitor can be connected as well as a power meter. Bluetooth and ANT are supported, so users can connect to various Garmin systems, for example. Or smartwatches, such as the Coros Pace 3.
The Coros Dura bike computer is now available for pre-order at a price of $249. Shipping starts on July 15.
