Casio has recently unveiled three new G-SHOCK watch series: the GD010, the GA010 and the GM2110. The GD010 and GA010 are similar, with Casio suggesting that the GA010 has a “refined touch”.
The GD010 series includes three models, the GD010-1, the GD010-3 and the GD010-4. These have a large multifunctional LCD and can run for up to 10 years. By comparison, the GA010 watches, GA010-1A, GA010-2A, and GA010-5A, have layered analog and digital displays, with the same battery life expectancy. The GM2110D has many of the same features as the GA010, with a digital-analog combination. However, while each adopts the classic rugged design, there is a resin bezel and strap for the GD010 and the GA010 and a metal-covered bezel and bracelet for the GM2110. The GM2110 also has a shorter battery life of three years.
All three watches are said to offer a shock-resistant structure, water resistance up to 200 m (~656 ft) and can be set to various time zones worldwide. Features include a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer and up to five daily alarms. Plus, the button-operated Super Illuminator LED light makes it easy to read the watches in darker conditions. The Casio G-SHOCK GD010 series watches retail for $99/€99.90 and the GA010 series for $120/€119. The Casio G-SHOCK G-STEEL GM2110 costs $300 in the US but has yet to launch in the EU.
