The TUF Gaming BE3600 is a new WiFi router from Asus. It is available from Galaxus, for example, for a price of 246 euros, with immediate delivery within a few days (approx. $288 on Amazon). With this router, Asus is particularly targeting video gamers who prefer high-speed and low-latency data transmission. The design is clearly influenced by more than just pragmatic considerations; it also reflects a focus on video gamers. The four external antennas are visible. The router supports WiFi 802.11 n/ac/ax/be and therefore the latest WiFi 7 standard.The maximum data transfer rate specified by Asus is 3,600 MBit/s. As usual, this specification applies across all bands. Even though the TUF Gaming BE3600 is a WiFi 7 router, data transmission is only supported in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Up to 2,822 MBit/s can be transmitted via the 5 GHz band and up to 688 MBit/s in the 2.4 GHz band. The 2.4 GHz band is still primarily used by older devices or systems that simply do not require a higher data transfer rate and are also less affected by a lower-quality connection - for example, smart home products that only need to receive short commands.

OFDMA is supported, which should make it easy to operate several end devices at the same time. A quad-core processor with a clock frequency of 2 GHz is installed and the RAM measures one gigabyte. There is one 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet WAN port, plus four Gigabit Ethernet ports and one USB 3.1 port - this allows the router to make media stored on a hard disk available for network devices, a media server is supported and Time Machine can also be used. A separate network can be set up for guests and a mesh system can be implemented.
