The Apple iPhone 16 lineup is the first from the company to headline AI features. These features will be brought by Apple Intelligence, which will be making its debut with iOS 18.1. Apple has confirmed that its suite of AI services will be available starting in October.
As for iOS 18, it's coming on September 16, right before the availability of the iPhone 16 series. This new update will be rolling out to all the supported phones, including the iPhone Xseries from 2018. However, not all of them will be getting Apple Intelligence.
Apple's new suite of AI features will only be available to the newly launched iPhone 16 lineup, the iPhone 15 Pro models, and iPads and Macs with M1 and later (128 GB WiFi iPad Air M2 curr. $564 on Amazon). However, not all the planned features will be available at first. Apple says the iOS 18.1 update landing in October will bring the first batch of features.
Some features in the first batch are Writing Tools, Clean Up, Priority Messages, Smart Reply, and a redesigned Siri. On that note, Apple says that the new Siri has a "richer language understanding and "is more natural" to conversate with.
