Earlier this week, Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman predicted Apple would show off its new iPhones on September 10. While Gurman is usually spot-on about these things, his prediction was off by a tad, as Apple has just confirmed it plans to show off new hardware on September 9 via the "It's Glowtime" event, which will be happen on 10:00 PDT.
Alongside the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, Apple is expected to show off the Apple Watch 10 (or Apple Watch X) and maybe even new AirPods. This time around ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) will be present on all models; not just the Pro ones. The move likely comes after Samsung added the feature to all Galaxy Buds 3 SKUs. We might also get a release date for iOS 18. As far as M4-powered MacBook/iMacs are concerned, they're unlikely to surface until October.
Previous leaks suggested the iPhone 16 series would offer mostly iterative upgrades over their predecessors, with the most notable ones including 8 GB of RAM across all SKUs. This time, an Apple A18 chip will power all iPhone models, but like previous generations, the Pro models will get an appropriately branded A18 Pro. The non-Pro A18 could, in all likelihood, be an Apple A17 Pro with a fresh coat of paint on top.
