The Anker USB-A to USB-C Cable (6 ft, Upcycled-Braided) is now available in the US and some EU countries. This is the latest accessory of its kind to arrive in these markets: the Anker USB-C to Lightning Cable (3ft, Upcycled-Braided) was released earlier this month, and the Anker USB-C to USB-C Cable (240W, Upcycled-Braided) launched in June.
As with the other versions, the USB-A to USB-C cable provides a 480 Mbps data transfer rate, but the maximum charging power is 18W. Plus, Anker notes that the cable does not support screen mirroring. The 6ft (1.8m) USB 2.0 cable is said to be durable, with the company claiming it can last up to 10 years, handling over 35,000 bends or up to 220 lbs (~100 kg) force. However, Anker only offers a 24-month warranty on the product. As its name suggests, the cable is braided using recycled materials, which is said to prevent tangling.
Anker’s USB-A to USB-C Cable (6 ft, Upcycled-Braided) retails for $16.99/€14.99 at Amazon. An image on the Amazon US listing hints at a shorter 3 ft (0.9 m) version of the cable, which could launch at a later date.
