It seems that the RG40XX V will be Anbernic's August release after all. While the company showcased the device at the start of the month, it has revealed precious little since. Nonetheless, hardware specifications and a release date leaked online shortly thereafter, full details of which we have covered separately.
Not only has Anbernic now confirmed that last week's leak was accurate, but it has also showcased launch pricing to boot. In short, the RG40XX V is not quite just a vertical version of the RG40XX H (curr. $89.99 on Amazon), which arrived just over a month ago. Instead, Anbernic has dropped one of the latter's joysticks for the RG40XX V's release.
As a result, Anbernic's latest gaming handheld resembles the AYANEO Pocket DMG. However, the RG40XX V is considerably cheaper than its AYANEO counterpart. Specifically, the former will cost $59.99 when it goes on sale tomorrow at 10:00 UTC. As expected, the RG40XX V will come in three colours, which Anbernic describes as Indigo Blue, Transparent Black and White. For reference, the device will come with the following storage options:
