Over a year has now passed from Meta's initial release of the Quest 3 (curr. $499.99 on Amazon). Since then, Apple has shipped the considerably more expensive Vision Pro, while Byte Dance has now unveiled the Pico 4 Ultra in China. However, there is plenty of evidence that Meta has a new virtual reality (VR) headset planned.
Now, Mark Gurman has chimed in on the device, which has long been rumoured the 'Quest 3S'. To that end, Gurman claims that 'multiple monikers have been discussed internally'. Thus, we would not rule out the headset arriving under a different name when it eventually launches.
Unfortunately, it remains unclear when Meta will officially announce its next VR headset. In the meantime, Gurman reports that he has already received information about potential launch pricing. Supposedly, Meta is considering offering the Quest 3S 'at $300 or $400'. While this would help distinguish the newer headset from the existing Quest 3, Meta may achieve this price by offering controllers separately.
