Xiaomi has now released the Redmi Note 14 in China. As a last-minute pre-launch leak suggested, the new entry-level model has a completely different design from the Redmi Note 14 Pro or Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus that also arrived today. Specifically, the Redmi Note 14 has stuck with a top left mounted camera housing just like the Redmi Note 13 5G (curr. $215 on Amazon).
Other surprises are in store for Xiaomi's new basic Redmi Note smartphone, too. While leaks claimed that the Redmi Note 14 would feature the Dimensity 7050, Xiaomi has opted for a different MediaTek chipset from the same family. As the image below shows, the Redmi Note 14 relies upon the Dimensity 7025 Ultra, which Xiaomi complements with the following hardware:
For context, the Dimensity 7025 Ultra is likely just a tweaked version of the Dimensity 7025 that underpins Motorola's Moto G55 andMoto G64. At any rate, the Redmi Note 14 also features a 6.67-inch OLED display that outputs at 1080p with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits (HBM) peak brightness. Moreover, the Redmi Note 14 boasts IP64 certification against particle and water ingress across its entire 7.99 mm thick and 190 g housing.
Furthermore, Xiaomi has included the Sony LYT-600 sensor with OIS as the device's primary camera, as well as 16 MP front-facing and 2 MP depth of field rear-facing cameras. Currently, the Redmi Note 14 is available in three colour options and four memory configurations. For reference, Xiaomi has priced the latter as follows in China; there is no word yet on availability elsewhere:
