Xiaomi is now tipped to introduce its long-anticipated15and15 Proas the world's first Android smartphones to owe their generational flagship performance boost to the Snapdragon 8 Elite rather than the8 Gen 4as generally assumed earlier.

TheGen nnaming scheme might be dumped in order to make it clear that the 8 Elite and its descendants are the mobile counterparts for the new, top-tierX Elitechip for PCs.

Should that be the case, the change might imply other interesting permutations, such as the existence of a Snapdragon 8Plusthat might supersede the current8s Gen 3sub-flagship processor for smartphones, and so on - however, there has been no word on what happens to the7 seriesunder this alleged new system.
