Dragon Age: The Veilguard doesn't shy away from long or epic boss battles, with Archdemon Razikale offering one of the game's most tense fights during the finale of the Siege of Weisshaupt. While this boss doesn't boast an impenetrable health pool, its devastating attacks and multiple phases make this boss fight a more strategic battle.
Once you've set your dragon trap and progressed to the proper spot during the Siege of Weisshaupt, a cutscene will trigger where you will witness your trap in action. However, the fight doesn't happen in a cutscene, as you'll be confronted with Ghilan'nain, who summons the true Archdemon Razikale to the fight. Prepare for a grueling battle.
After you reach Trap Battlement Dais and trigger Ghilan'nain's intro during the Siege of Weisshaupt, you will be face to face with Archdemon Razikale.
Archdemon Razikale appears as a single serpent head and is particularly vulnerable to Fire but resists Necrotic damage.
Archdemon Razikale isn't difficult to defeat in this phase, as you only need to keep track of its single head to defeat it while avoiding any of the beast's attacks.
Be aware of attempts to bite you or spew blight goo at you, as these attacks are telegraphed by the head's massive coiling windup.
Blight Boils will appear on Archdemon Razikale's neck periodically when it dives to attack you – hit the Blight Boils to inflict massive damage on the Archdemon and speed up the fight.
Use any Fire-based attacks you have, as these should help you make quick work of the Archdemon.
However, once Razikale's HP is depleted, Ghilan'nain will summon the Archdemon back and bestow an additional head along with a reset HP bar.
Once Ghilan'nain completes her chanting, Archdemon Razikale will return to the edge of the arena, this time boasting two heads to attack you with.
Dodging attacks becomes a bit more difficult in this phase, as you now have to watch two heads at once to avoid being caught in their path.
This time, both heads will have Blight Boils on their necks that you can attack, opening up your options to inflict damage in massive chunks.
Hurlocks and other Darkspawn will begin to appear during this phase, so be sure to clear them out as fast as possible when they spawn.
These enemies can also spawn when Ghilan'nain recalls Archdemon Razikale part-way through the phase, protecting it from further damage for a brief period.
You can prevent Hurlock spawns by destroying the Blight Boils that appear on the battlefield.
Once you deplete the two heads' HP bar, Ghilan'nain will intervene yet again to heal the Archdemon and add yet another head to the equation.
With three heads, Archdemon Razikale reaches its full potential, as you must keep your head on a swivel to avoid being caught in a deadly combo attack.
The green bile attack and diving heads are the two most dangerous sources of damage to avoid.
The floor will be highlighted red when the Archdemon is about to dive with its head.
Stay mobile and continue to inflict damage on the Archdemon when you have an opening.
After a few cycles of attacks and dodging, Archdemon Razikale will be defeated, ending the Siege of Weisshaupt.
Once you defeat Archdemon Razikale during the Siege of Weisshaupt and watch the extended cutscene following the battle, you'll be rewarded with the following:
