After making your way through Belurat, Tower Settlement in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree and defeating the Divine Beast Dancing Lion, you’ll hit a dead end.

This is just the first of many roadblocks that you’ll face in the Land of Shadow, but the blockade at the Tower of Shadow is especially confusing for new players. All that’s there to guide you is a message that instructs you to follow the crosses east, but where exactly are you supposed to go after Belurat in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree?

Where Should You Go After Belurat in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree?

After defeating the Divine Beast Dancing Lion at the end of the Belurat dungeon in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, you’ll find that the entrance to the Tower of Shadow is sealed and obscured by shadow.

A note from Needle Knight Leda — one of your companions who is also pursuing Miquella — instructs you to follow the crosses east. Miquella’s Crosses are major landmarks in Shadow of the Erdtree, so leaving Belurat and continuing eastward until you spot more of them is the best way forward.

There are only so many Miquella Crosses in the Gravesite Plain region, however, so your search will take you even further east to the Scadu Atlus. To get there, you first need to clear the Castle Ensis dungeon. This is the next major destination on your Shadow of the Erdtree journey after Belurat, Tower Settlement.

Castle Ensis is located to the east of Belurat. You have to cross the massive Ellac Greatbridge in order to reach it, so you can’t miss it. There are a few helpful items and smaller locations along the way that you should keep an eye out for as well.

Castle Ensis is a tough dungeon, and while it may be shorter than Belurat, there are multiple minibosses that stand between you and the final boss guarding the Scadu Atlus. Thankfully, the rewards match the challenge, and you’ll find some of the DLC’s coolest weapons within the castle walls.

If you’re having trouble with Castle Ensis, try exploring the Gravesite Plain region for a while longer so you can find more Scadutree Fragments and boost your stats to prepare for the battles ahead. Don’t lose hope, since the Scadu Atlus is home to some of Shadow of the Erdtree’s new weapon archetypes like Hand-to-Hand Martial Arts.
