Anbernic has only just released the RG Cube (curr. $255.99 on Amazon). Nonetheless, the company has now moved onto the RG40XX H, which closely resembles the device that preceded it. For context, Anbernic's official video is the third time that we have seen the RG40XX H after two videos emerged on Chinese social media earlier this week.
As expected, the RG40XX H features a 4-inch IPS display that outputs at 640 x 480 pixels. Thus, the device has a 4:3 aspect ratio, making it wider than theRG Cubethat has a 1:1 display. Additionally, Anbernic surrounds the 4:3 display with a pair of RGB-backlit joysticks, as well as ABYX buttons and a familiar-looking d-pad.
Moreover, the RG40XX H features an Allwinner H700 chipset and 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. In other words, the RG40XX H should perform about as well as all RG35XX series models apart from the original RG35XX. On top of that, Anbernic has included a 3,300 mAh battery, a mini-HDMI port, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi connectivity, plus two microSD card slots. A release date is unknown for now, although it is clear that the RG40XX H will emulate up to Dreamcast and PlayStation Portable games using Anbernic's Linux-based OS.
