Generally, puzzle progression is straightforward: complete a puzzle to unlock the next. However, some puzzles require additional steps. Don't worry, it's easy!

Most puzzles unlock by completing adjacent ones, progressing from left to right across the farm’s puzzle scroll. Larger, more challenging collages often require Challenge Mode (unless you're in Puzzle Mode). These "boss puzzles" are key to advancement.

Puzzle Mode players rejoice! All puzzles are immediately available – no unlocking needed. If you prefer a less gradual difficulty curve, Puzzle Mode is the way to go!

Certain puzzles require specific prior completions:

Monster Puzzles (sword icon): These require completing a puzzle that unlocks a weapon. Many appear early in the game. Fishing Puzzles (fishing rod icon): Unlock these after completing the Fishing Pole puzzle (located to the right of the Nine-Tailed Fox boss puzzle). NPC Puzzles (speech box icon): Unlock these after completing the Greeting Spell puzzle (located to the right of the Fishing Pole puzzle). Completing these adds Rune Factory NPCs to your compendium.
