The Geekom AX8 Pro is a new mini PC from the company that comes with an Intel NUC-like design. More specifically, it looks similar to the Intel NUC 13 Pro. But this isn’t the first product from the brand that uses this chassis. The company has opted for the same housing for the XT12 Pro, which launched with Intel 12th Gen processors.
However, the AX8 Pro comes with AMD Hawk Point processors. This new mini PC is available to purchase with either Ryzen 7 8845HS or Ryzen 9 8945HS. The first costs CNY 4499 (about $620), while the latter costs CNY 5399 (around $744). Both come with 32 GB of RAM, but the top-end version has 2 TB of storage, while the affordable one has 1 TB.
Besides that, the mini PC has a generous selection of connectivity ports. There are two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, one USB4, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, one USB 2.0 Type-A, and two HDMI 2.0 ports. The inclusion of a USB4 portmeans you can hook it up with an eGPU to get a better gaming performance. Of course, OCuLink would’ve been much better.
For wireless connectivity, the Geekom AX8 Pro has WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. The company also promises a stable performance with the IceBlast cooling system. There’s no word on global availability and pricing yet, but Geekom does bring most of its products outside China. However, if you’re looking for a system with similar specs that’s already available internationally, check out the Geekom A8 (Ryzen 9 variant curr. $849 on Amazon).
