Step 1: Open the screenshot or any other picture in the Snipping Tool.
Step 2: Click on the Shapes icon (square with a circle at the back).
Step 3: Select the Rectangle shape and click on the Fill tool. Select the None option (the first one, i.e., a circle with a bar).
Step 4: Now, click on Outline and select the Red color. Also, move the opacity slider to the extreme right. If you want to change the size of the red box, use the Size slider.
Step 5: Now, hold the mouse button and drag it around the text in the picture to create a rectangle. Before performing any other action on the image, you can resize, rotate, or move the red box. If you click outside the red box, you can’t move or resize it.
Step 6: Use the Ctrl S keyboard shortcut or click on the Save icon at the top to save the picture with the red box around the text. Also, learn how to add arrows or text to screenshots in Windows.
Tip: Your PC automatically saves all the screenshots. Know their location.
