The Necropolis is one of the scarier areas in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, offering dozens of enemies and multiple quests to tackle. However, if you're game, you can accept a series of quests from Myrna and Vorgoth called "Hauntings", which send you to hunt down various creatures in specific locations.

During Hauntings: Deathly Curiosity, you're tasked with finding and defeating the Burgeoning Malice boss, who you can find en route to your destination during Unwelcome Guests. Luckily, if you have both of these quests at once, you can just follow Unwelcome Guests' markers until you stumble upon the Burgeoning Malice along the way.

How To Defeat the Burgeoning Malice

Immediately, once you enter The Spectral Court, Rook and your companions will call out the Burgeoning Malice, an undead creature that is blocking your path forward.

The Burgeoning Malice is weak to Necrotic damage but resists Cold, so plan your attacks accordingly.

Emmrich's abilities, like Final Rites, should help defeat this boss.

This enemy makes incredible use of ranged spells, so you'll want to keep your distance and dodge the spells as often as possible to avoid absorbing huge chunks of damage.

If you're a melee character, you can still attack at close range, but keep a close eye on the balls of magic above the Burgeoning Malice's head, as these spells will hurtle toward you when cast.

This fight is fairly manageable if you play smart and wait for openings in the Burgeoning Malice's attack patterns.

Keep your health as full as possible, or you risk being killed by a single devastating attack.

Once you've dispatched the Burgeoning Malice, you can progress through the exit door from the Spectral Court and into the Cascades if you're still working on other quests.

Otherwise, feel free to return to Myrna and Vorgoth to collect your reward.

What Rewards Do You Get For Finishing Deathly Curiosity

Once you've defeated the boss and finished reporting back to Myrna and Vorgoth, you will receive the following rewards:

• 400 Gold
• Faction Points

Completing this quest will also automatically begin Hauntings: Restless Dreams.
