The HTML and CSS “7 Days of Code” is a free online opportunity offered by Alura for those who want to deepen their skills in Front-end development.

For 7 days, you will be challenged to replicate the layout of the Netflix film and series page, applying everything from basic concepts to more advanced techniques, essential for any developer.

Applying Essential Concepts

In this challenge, you will use basic concepts such as 'div', 'section', inline for images, and measurements in CSS.

More advanced techniques like Flexbox and Grid will be applied to ensure you master the tools needed to create responsive and functional layouts.

This project is designed to help you nail down the syntax of each tag and understand their functions, allowing you to focus on solving more complex problems.

Develop Your Portfolio and GitHub

At the end of the 7 days of intense practice, you will have not only consolidated your knowledge in HTML and CSS, but also enriched your portfolio and updated your GitHub with a real and challenging project.

Content Worked on in the Challenge

• Day 1: On the first day, you will be presented with the layout of a page in Figma, analyze it and use it to create the Netflix page's highlight banner, in addition to organizing the basic structure of your project. You will mess around with the positioning of images, buttons and more.
• Day 2: Here you will develop the navigation menu, also known as the Navbar. In this section, you will have the page menu logo and search, notification and user buttons. Flexbox knowledge will make your life a lot easier!
• Day 3: This will probably be the most important challenge, as you will start working with film and series tracks. You will create the ‘My List’ rail, which contains the movies saved by a user to watch later. You will be able to use your Grid knowledge.
• Day 4: On this day you will implement the 'High' trail, but applying the hover animation when the user passes the mouse over the image of an item.
• Day 5: Here you will continue to play with tracks and animations. You will create a slide effect, as if you had a carousel of films/series that rotates when you click on the navigation arrows.
• Day 6: Almost at the end, you will develop the footer, also known as a footer, and you will have the chance to use the knowledge acquired in the last few days to make it look very charming.
• Day 7: On the seventh and final day of the challenge, you will publish your page for free on the internet, so that other people can access it and it can serve as a portfolio for you. You will close with a flourish!
