Chrome on Android: Managing Font Size Adjustments
Google Chrome's behavior on Android devices regarding text resizing has caused frustration for many developers. When paragraphs reach an unspecified threshold, Chrome often increases font size unexpectedly. This can disrupt the intended design and cause inconsistencies across a page.
Resolving the Issue
To prevent Chrome from resizing font based on paragraph length, the following solution can be implemented:
Add max-height: 999999px; to the CSS of the element you want to retain the specified font size, or to its parent element.
By setting an extremely large maximum height, Chrome recognizes that there is ample space for longer paragraphs and refrains from adjusting the font size as it normally would. This method ensures that the desired font size is consistently maintained throughout the website, regardless of paragraph length.
